What Can I expect to achieve during my course?
The aspects described below are only a rough guide based on our experience with students of different conditions and levels of fitness. It should be noted that the level of progress depends on the ability of each person and sea conditions for the days of the course. Surfing is a great outdoor activity and really enjoyable, but it is not an easy sport. So the the longer time you dedicate to surf, the faster you will progress. Also remember that the best surfer out there is the one who is having more fun!
1 day course
It is the perfect way to introduce you to the sport. You will learn the basic concepts of surfing and try standing up on mellow waves close to the shore. You will get your first “ feel” of being on the surfboard and, depending on your level of progression, will get your first experience at riding the waves standing.
3 day course
In the 3 day course you will be feeling more comfortable with the waves and the surfboard. You should be able to stand up and keep the balance in a more natural way. This would be the time to start practicing your first turns on the white water waves.
5 day course
At this time you should be catching your own waves, standing up and keeping balance on a normal basis and you will be more comfortable turning right and left. Hopefully by then, you will be confident paddling out, and with the help of an instructor, trying your first green waves!
Do you take children or families?
Unfortunately minimum age is 14 years as law requires any children under 16 must have a private instructor.
